Core maintenance processes carry forward into SAP S/4HANA Asset Management. S/4HANA introduces a new user experience, embedded analytics, updated planning and scheduling tools, and access to SAP’s AI capabilities. The move is also a good time to clean up asset data and standardize processes across sites.

No. Many engagements begin with an assessment or a pilot at one site, for one asset class, or for one shutdown.

Current uses include natural-language access to maintenance data through Joule, anomaly detection on sensor data in SAP Asset Performance Management, and agents that help process asset health alerts. We focus on use cases tied to specific tasks and measurable results.

SAP Intelligent Asset Management is the set of SAP solutions that extend the core: SAP Asset Performance Management for risk, criticality and asset health, SAP Service and Asset Manager for mobile execution, field service scheduling and dispatch, and SAP Business Network Asset Collaboration for sharing asset records with OEMs and contractors. SAP S/4HANA Asset Management remains the system of record for assets and maintenance work.

Not in the usual sense of those terms. SAP EAM manages physical, operational assets such as equipment, plants, networks and fleets. IT hardware can be recorded as equipment or fixed assets in SAP S/4HANA, but SAP IT asset management needs such as software licenses and IT service management are usually handled by dedicated ITAM or ITSM tools. Digital asset management systems for images and media files are a separate category. YASH’s EAM practice focuses on operational assets.
